Shichifuku Towel's more than 60-year history parallels the evolution of Japan's towel industry. Since its founding in 1959, the company has maintained an unwavering commitment to quality and design while flexibly adapting to changing times.

The 1960s and 70s coincided with Japan's period of rapid economic growth, during which Shichifuku Towel expanded through export-oriented production. In 1968, the company was recognized by the Minister of International Trade and Industry for its contribution to exports, earning early international recognition.

After incorporating as "Shichifuku Towel Co., Ltd." in the mid-1980s, the company focused on developing its own brand, establishing a unique path as a manufacturer. In the early 1990s, the company implemented office computers for integrated management from production to inventory and was quick to adopt digital technologies such as Computer Graphics Systems (CGS).

In 1996, Shichifuku relocated to a new headquarters factory in Imabari's industrial park, introducing cutting-edge looms and automated logistics systems. During this period, they also established a planning department and began online transactions with clients, preparing for the 21st century.

Entering the 2000s, the company focused on expanding distribution channels, launching internet sales and exhibiting at trade shows like Japan Creation. In 2002, Taizo Kawakita became CEO and accelerated global expansion by launching the lifestyle brand "ISSO ECCO" in collaboration with a design firm and actively participating in international exhibitions in New York and Paris.

Since the 2010s, alongside strengthening its own brands, the company has invested in infrastructure such as building a distribution center and opening a Tokyo branch office. In 2023, it was selected as one of the "100 Textile Industry Companies Leading the Next Generation" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and was also certified as a "Youth Employment Promotion Company," with its corporate activities widely recognized.

The history of Shichifuku Towel embodies the essence of manufacturing where Japanese traditional techniques and innovative thinking converge. The pursuit of "towels that comfortably color everyday life" will continue to be passed down unchanged.
